The things that give me a sense of purpose include helping others, making progress in my recovery, learning new skills, and working toward personal goals. Supporting family and friends, and making meaningful connections with people, also contribute to my sense of fulfillment.

The things that bring me the most joy and pleasure are spending time with family and friends, being outdoors in nature and practicing mindfulness.
To sprinkle more joy into my day and week, I plan to take small moments to appreciate these activities. I can start by scheduling regular walks outside, making time to connect with loved ones, and setting aside quiet moments for reading or mindfulness.

THIS WEEK, I MADE IT A GOAL TO DO ONE ACT OF KINDNESS EACH DAY, AND IT HAS BEEN A REWARDING EXPERIENCE. ONE DAY, I HELPED A NEIGHBOR CARRY THEIR GROCERIES TO THEIR DOOR, WHICH BROUGHT A SMILE TO THEIR FACE. ANOTHER DAY, I TOOK THE TIME TO CALL A FRIEND I HADN’T SPOKEN TO IN A WHILE, JUST TO CHECK IN AND SEE HOW THEY WERE DOING.

I am starting the habit of practicing mindfulness and deep breathing exercises daily. This habit is important to me because it helps reduce stress, improves my focus, and enhances my overall well-being.

I am committed to incorporating daily stretching and mobility exercises into my routine to improve flexibility and reduce discomfort. Specifically, I focus on upper limb range of motion exercises and seated posture alignment. Additionally, I practice sitting tolerance with deep breathing exercises to build endurance.

The concept that resonated with me the most around relationships and connection is the importance of vulnerability and openness.

I used a strategy of asking myself, “Is this thought really true?” or “Is this thought helping me?” This helped me take a step back and look at things more objectively.

Each day, as I take time to reflect on the positive moments, I’ve noticed it helps me shift my focus from what’s wrong to what’s going right. It’s becoming easier to find small, meaningful things to appreciate, even on challenging days. I’m noticing that this practice is helping me feel more grateful and present.

when I noticed negative or self-critical thoughts creeping in, I could pause and reflect on them instead of letting them take over. It felt like a shift in control. I noticed that many of my negative thoughts were automatic, but once I caught them, I realized they were not always accurate or helpful. I was able to reframe some of them with more self-compassion, which helped me feel calmer and more grounded

Practicing self-compassion felt like giving myself permission to take breaks and acknowledge my progress, even when I faced challenges. I noticed that being kinder to myself helped ease some of the frustration I often feel when things don’t go as planned. It reminded me that healing is a process and that patience with myself is an important part of it.

    Hello Mr. X

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the support and guidance you have provided to me since I arrived in Canada. Moving to a new country has been exciting and challenging, and your assistance has made a significant difference in helping me settle in smoothly.

Your generosity in offering advice on navigating local customs, understanding the local amenities, and connecting me with valuable resources has made me feel at home far away from home. Moreover, your kindness in welcoming me into your community and introducing me to new friends has made me feel at home far away from home.

I deeply appreciate the time and effort you have dedicated to ensuring that my transition to Canada has been as seamless as possible. Your kindness and support have not only eased practical matters but have also made a positive impact on my overall experience as an immigrant.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support.

    Warm regards,
    Saket
